What does a hair transplant in Copenhagen cost?

Denmark Hair Transplant Clinics provides individual written quotations in Danish kroner (DKK). There is no standard price on this page because the treatment area, available donor hair, method and scope of aftercare need to be assessed first.

Ask for the total payable amount and a clear description of the proposed procedure. A price for “up to” a certain graft count does not tell you how many grafts are appropriate for your scalp, or whether the quoted number refers to follicular units or individual hairs. How does graft planning affect the quote?

A graft contains one or more hairs. The number required depends on the size and position of the recipient area, the existing density and the visual coverage the surgeon considers realistic. A small hairline refinement and a broad crown restoration can need different plans even when the apparent amount of hair loss looks similar in photographs.

The donor area is a limit, not an unlimited source. The assessment should consider previous procedures, hair calibre and future thinning before a graft range is proposed. Read how graft estimates are made and the donor-area guide before comparing graft totals.

What should your written quotation cover?

Compare the same scope of care. Ask the clinic to identify each included service and any additional charge.

• The named clinician, proposed method, recipient areas and estimated graft range.
• Who performs extraction, recipient-site creation and implantation, and who has clinical responsibility.
• Consultation, examination and any tests required for your particular circumstances.
• The procedure, local anaesthesia and any medicines or aftercare products included.
• Follow-up appointments, how they are delivered and how long they are included.
• How concerns or complications will be assessed, including out-of-hours contact arrangements.
• The deposit, balance due date, cancellation terms and any conditions attached to changing the treatment plan.

An optional treatment such as PRP should be explained separately. Ask why it is proposed, what benefit is expected in your case and whether it changes the total cost. Do not assume a package includes every medicine, future review or further procedure.

Does the method change the price?

FUE removes follicular units individually. FUT uses a donor strip. The term DHI describes an implantation approach. Ask what the proposed technique means for your procedure, staffing, donor scars and recovery.

Method names alone are a poor basis for comparing value. A more expensive quote is not proof of a better result, and a low price does not explain how the treatment will be delivered. Assess the clinical plan and written inclusions together.

Deposits, payment dates and finance

Ask for the current deposit and payment terms before booking. Confirm when each payment is due, whether a consultation fee is separate and how cancellation or a finding that surgery is unsuitable would be handled.

Do not assume monthly payments or interest-free credit are available. Any finance option would need to be confirmed separately with its provider, eligibility criteria, charges and total repayable amount. The Denmark finance information page explains what to request.

Check the clinician and treatment location

Before agreeing to treatment, obtain the clinician’s full name, the actual treatment address and the relevant registration details. For Denmark, use the Danish Patient Safety Authority’s authorization register. A UK GMC number describes UK registration; it does not establish authorization for treatment in Denmark.

Ask who will see you at consultation and who will be responsible on the procedure day. You should have time to consider the expected benefit, risks, alternatives and aftercare. Avoid deciding solely on a discount or a promise of unlimited grafts.

• How will the plan allow for future thinning?
• What is the complete price in DKK, and how long is the quote valid?
• Which services, products and follow-up reviews would cost extra?
• What happens if I need a further review or wish to cancel?

Bring your medication list, relevant medical history, details of previous hair procedures and photographs showing how your hair loss has changed. A consultation may conclude that medical assessment, non-surgical management or waiting is more appropriate than transplantation.
